Color is read before it’s noticed
A logo’s color communicates before anyone consciously registers it. A mismatch between color and message creates a quiet, hard-to-name friction for the exact audience a brand is trying to attract.
Color carries associations you didn’t choose
Blue reads as trust and stability. Red reads as urgency or energy. Yellow reads as optimism, sometimes caution. These associations exist whether or not they were part of the original design brief.
Context changes the read
The same color can land differently depending on industry expectations. A palette that feels bold in one category can feel like a warning sign in another.
Test against the audience, not the mood board
The right color choice isn’t the one that’s most liked internally — it’s the one that reads correctly to the specific audience the brand is trying to reach.
